Winter Season
During the ski season the resorts of St Gervais and Megeve are linked, with 116 ski lifts the Evasion ski area offers 420km of slopes facing the sublime Mont Blanc panorama. St Gervais also has one of the best snow parks in the region hosting the French snowboard championships in 2002. The Mont Blanc tramway can be taken from the village to the Bellevue Plateau (1800m) giving access to the Les Houches ski area. The ski area of St Gervais has 136 pistes, 19 blacks, 52 reds, 42 blue and 23 green runs, 28km of cross country skiing, 20km of snowshoe tracks and 15km of footpaths. There are 2 ski schools and comprehensive crèche facilities. Other activities include paragliding with skis, snowshoe hiking, walking, swimming (indoor pool at spa), health and spa treatments, ice skating, curling and ice hockey.
Summer Season
Choose from a walk, a drink on the terrace of a mountain cafe or the thrill of an exhilarating descent by mountain bike. With over 180km of marked paths and trails, both walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice. Mountain climbing and hiking are very popular with many. Take the Mont Blanc tramway, climb to the summit of Mont Blanc or take a gentle walk at your own pace – every level is catered for. The telecabines are open from June to September and you can enjoy the cable car ride and the fantastic views of Mont Blanc. The spa is open all year round for beauty treatments, hydrotherapy, steam baths and a sauna. There is also a tree top adventure course in the park at Le Fayet with rope ladders, monkey bridges and nets. Other activities include white water rafting, canyoning, paragliding, 2 golf courses at Megeve and Chamonix, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, horse riding and tennis. |
