Getting There & Around

Fly –
There are a number of airports from which you can access St Gervais – Geneva is the nearest (45Miles / 1hr drive straight down the autoroute A40.) Grenoble, Chambery and Turin are all approximately 2hrs drive.

There are loads of low cost airlines such as www.easyjet.com, www.jet2.com, www.swiss.com and www.ryanair.com.

A great search engine for the best flight deals is www.skyscanner.net which takes the hard work out of finding the best flight deal.

For airport transfers you can check www.ski-lifts.com, another good site is www.showtrain.com and they are based in Le Fayet at the base of St Gervais.

Drive –
550Miles from Calais - Motorway all the way. St Gervais is off the A40 at junction 21 signposted Saint Gervais/ Le Fayet

If you are driving then a great ferry crossing is www.speedferries.com. You arrive from Dover into Boulogne which is just below Calais and easy to get onto the same motorways as from Calais.
Another alternative is www.eurotunnel.com which is really fast – about 35minutes and they go every ½ hr.

Carhire -
If you want to hire a car and drive from the airport then there are lots of car hire companies such as www.europcar.ch, www.avis.ch and www.hertz.co.uk

Train –
Access to St Gervais / Le Fayet SNCF railway station is 4km from the village centre. It takes about 4hrs from London to Paris and 5hrs from Paris to St Gervais. Check out www.sncf.com.

Local Buses & Taxis –
The central taxi rank can be contacted on +33 (0) 450 471753. There are lots of other local taxis and a list of these is held in the local tourist information office in the centre of town. The service at this office is excellent. Tel +33 (0) 450477608.
The resort offers a shuttle bus service around town and between the villages in the Chamonix Valley and details of these once again can be seen in the tourist information office.
